CCG wins the "Financial Inclusion" Trophy at the 2017 African Banker Awards
On May 24, 2017, CCG won the "Financial Inclusion" Trophy at the African Banker Awards of 2017, organized on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the African Development Bank currently held in Ahmadabad, India.
The award recognizes CCG’s commitment and successful strategy in terms of financial inclusion with a demonstrated impact on improving access to financing for VSMEs and low-income individuals.
CCG is working to reduce the financing gap in favor of hundreds of thousands of actors, VSMEs and individuals, lacking financing due to their limited financial resources and insufficient sureties.
Its action produces a market deepening effect thanks to sharing the risk with the financial sector, enabling it thus to open to populations initially excluded because they were considered too risky.
During the period of 2013-2016, CCG has benefited to near 18,000 VSMEs and over 112,000 households, with an average of +80% additionality of newly-financed clientele.
CCG overtakes the leading position of guarantee institutions in Africa and the MENA region, as its performances (excluding mortgage loan guarantees) exceed those of comparable countries as well as the international averages, especially in terms of economic penetration, productivity and coverage of the SMEs.
In comparison to the size of the economy, the volume of outstanding loans for the "VSMEs" clientele in Morocco is ranked 1st in the MENA zone and 3rd in the Mediterranean with 1.1% of GDP (2015).
